Yes. Gameday Hustle is a US recruiting company that hires match scouts as independent contractors (1099). You get paid for every game you actually scout — $125 for MLS matches and $100 for other soccer leagues — plus a covered ticket and reimbursed travel, paid out every two weeks. And it never works the other way around: you'll never be asked to pay a fee, a deposit, or buy any equipment.
No. Training is free and built for beginners. If you can follow a match and tap your phone accurately, you can do this. Being a fan helps, but it isn't a requirement.
It's free and 100% online. You work through a set of manuals, answer some test questions to check you've got it, and finish with a practice test match. The whole thing takes under 10 hours and you do it at your own pace — before your first paid game.
You attend the match and log key moments and stats on your phone as they happen. That's it — watch closely, record accurately, submit. Most scouts say it makes the game more fun to follow, not less.
