How it works

STEP 01

Apply &
train

Take the qualifier, then complete short online training in our Training Centre. Most scouts get through it in 2–3 weeks at their own pace. We verify your identity over a quick video call. No cost. No commitment until you're ready.

STEP 02

Pick your
matches

Browse open fixtures in your region inside the Scout Management Platform. Apply for the games that fit your schedule. Get confirmed for assignments. You decide when, where, and how often.

STEP 03

Show up,
get paid

Arrive at the venue, log into the scouting app, capture live data through the match. Travel and ticket costs are reimbursed with proof. Payment lands every two weeks after match ratings clear.

Who we're
looking for

You watch sports already
You don't need a degree or experience. You need to know how a snap counts, how an inning ends, how an offside call looks. That's most of it.
You're reliable
When you say you'll cover a match, you cover it. You show up on time. You don't ghost. That's the bar.
You can travel locally
Most matches are within driving distance. If you can get to a stadium 30–50 miles out on a weekend, you're set.
You have a phone
A reliable smartphone, a working data plan, and a charger in your bag. The scouting apps run there. No special hardware.
You're 18+
U.S.-based. Eligible to work as an independent contractor (1099). Comfortable handling your own taxes — or willing to learn.
You stay off the record
Scouts don't post about gigs on socials. Don't talk to media at events. Discretion is part of the job. We mean it.

Real questions
real answers

It's self-employed contract work — 1099, paid per match. Most scouts treat it like a side gig (10–20 hours a week around their main schedule). A few cover dozens of matches a month and make it a primary income. Your call.
No. We train you online before your first match. The bar is: you understand the sport, you're reliable, you can follow procedures. Training takes most people 5–10 days at their own pace.
Match fees run $100–200 per game depending on sport, league level, and coverage type. Travel and tickets get reimbursed on top of that. A scout doing 8 matches a month is in the $800–1,600 range, before expenses. Heavy schedules go higher.
For most matches, yes — you're scouting live from the venue. Distance varies by region. Travel costs (gas, train, flight) are reimbursed with receipts. Some coverage types are remote, but in-venue is the bulk of the work.
A reliable smartphone (less than 4 years old, ideally), a stable data plan, a power bank, and a charger. That's it. We don't reimburse devices — they're yours. Everything else (apps, training, support) is on us.
Every two weeks, after your matches have been rated and your expense claims approved. You'll send an invoice through our platform — we walk you through it. Direct deposit.
No. Scouts don't post about being a scout, about specific matches, or about the data work — anywhere. We're behind-the-scenes by design. Break the rule and you're out. We're up front about it because we have to be.

QUESTION 1 OF 8 ~2 MIN
Q.01

Where in the U.S. are you based?

We assign matches close to home. Pick the state you'd cover from.

Q.02

Are you 18 or older?

We can't onboard scouts under 18. No exceptions.

Q.03

Which sports are you into?

Pick all that apply. We assign matches in sports you actually follow.

Q.04

Which teams nearby would you cover?

Pro franchises, college programs, local universities — anything within driving distance. List as many as come to mind.

Q.05

How many hours a week can you commit?

Most scouts run 5–15 hours. Honest answer is the right one.

Q.06

Can you travel up to 50 miles to a venue?

Travel is reimbursed. We just need to know your radius.

Q.07

Reliable smartphone with a data plan?

The scouting apps run on your phone. It's the one piece of gear you bring.

Q.08

Cool with 1099 / self-employed status?

Scouts aren't W-2 employees. You handle your own taxes. We tell you up front.

Q.09 · FINAL

Where do we reach you?

A real recruiter (not a bot) will follow up within 48 hours if you fit.
